Distributed Antenna Systems Perth
Improve mobile coverage across large buildings, multi-level sites and complex facilities.
Western Technology can help scope, design and install Distributed Antenna System infrastructure for Perth buildings that struggle with indoor mobile reception. DAS can extend usable cellular coverage through offices, hotels, hospitals, shopping centres, apartments and other large facilities.

How DAS works
Instead of relying on one outside signal to penetrate every wall and floor, DAS distributes the mobile signal through antennas placed around the building.
Multi-floor coverage
Designed for areas where outside mobile signal does not penetrate reliably.
Carrier-grade approach
Final active systems may require carrier-approved design, equipment and acceptance.
Good outdoor coverage does not always mean good indoor coverage
Concrete, steel, low-emissivity glass, lifts, underground areas and long internal distances can weaken mobile signal as it moves through a building.
A properly designed DAS gives the building its own internal antenna network instead of expecting phones to connect through multiple walls and floors.
Common symptoms: calls dropping inside, slow mobile data, no signal in lifts or car parks, different coverage from room to room, and staff relying on WiFi calling just to stay connected.
Passive, hybrid or active DAS
There is no single DAS design that fits every building. The right architecture depends on building size, carrier requirements, frequency bands, future 5G needs and how much coverage the site actually needs.
Passive DAS
Uses coaxial cable, splitters and antennas to distribute signal. It can suit smaller or existing 4G-focused systems where cable lengths and frequency requirements make sense.
Hybrid DAS
Combines fibre and RF distribution to reduce long coax runs while keeping parts of the system simpler. Useful where scale and cost need to be balanced.
Active DAS
Designed for larger, multi-floor and high-traffic buildings. Active platforms can support modern 4G and 5G in-building coverage, subject to carrier and system requirements.
Built for places where normal mobile coverage struggles
High-rise & offices
Coverage across floors, meeting rooms, lift lobbies and dense commercial spaces.
Hotels & accommodation
Improve mobile reception for guests and staff across rooms, common areas and back-of-house spaces.
Hospitals & healthcare
Support mobile coverage through complex, multi-building or high-occupancy environments.
Shopping centres
Help maintain consistent mobile coverage across retail floors, food courts and internal service areas.
Basements & car parks
Address dead zones where outside carrier signal cannot penetrate effectively.
Industrial & remote sites
Improve indoor mobile reception inside offices, workshops and large operational buildings.
Not every coverage problem needs a full DAS
Smaller offices, homes, vehicles and single-zone buildings may be better suited to a Cel-Fi system. Larger buildings, multiple floors and high-occupancy sites can justify a more scalable DAS design.
Cel-Fi
Best when you need targeted signal improvement in a smaller or simpler area.
DAS
Best when coverage needs to be distributed across a larger, multi-zone or multi-floor facility.
A structured DAS project process
Large in-building coverage projects need more than antenna mounting. The design, carriers, cable pathways, equipment, testing and handover all need to line up.
Coverage assessment
Understand where the building loses signal and what users actually need.
RF design
Plan antenna locations, system architecture and the pathways needed to distribute coverage.
Carrier coordination
Where required, coordinate the design, active equipment and acceptance requirements with the relevant carriers or specialist partners.
Installation
Install fibre, coax, antennas, passive components, equipment and associated communications infrastructure.
Testing & optimisation
Complete the agreed cable, fibre and RF testing, then rectify issues before handover.
Handover
Provide the agreed documentation, test results and operational handover for the installed system.
The cabling and testing behind the antennas matters
DAS performance depends on more than antenna count. Cable loss, connectors, fibre paths, isolation, passive components and commissioning all affect the final result.
- RF feeder and coax installation
- Fibre backhaul and equipment links
- Connector terminations
- Head-end and equipment locations
- Insertion loss and cable testing
- Specialist sweep, PIM or carrier acceptance testing where required
RF testing
Validate the installed RF path and identify loss or coverage issues.
Fibre & coax pathways
Design the physical backbone around distance, frequency and equipment requirements.
Project documentation
Keep the final design, testing and handover information together for future maintenance.
Mobile coverage is only one part of the building network
Cel-Fi Installation
Targeted mobile signal improvement for smaller sites, homes and vehicles.
Data Cabling
Structured cabling, cabinets and communications infrastructure.
Fibre Splicing
Fibre termination, testing and repair for communications backbones.
WiFi Site Survey
Wireless coverage surveys for WiFi networks, which is separate from mobile DAS.
Questions building owners usually ask first
Start with the coverage problem, not the hardware.
Send us the floor plan, number of floors and a short description of where mobile reception drops out. We can help determine whether Cel-Fi, passive DAS, hybrid DAS or active DAS is the right direction.
